Privacy Policy

At PDFix (operated by Kairos Coders), protecting your document privacy is our core architectural principle. We do not store, copy, or retain your files.

1. In-Browser Client Tools

For interactive editing, organizing, and security tools (such as Merge PDF, Split, Rotate, Sign, Watermark, Protect, Unlock, and Crop), 100% of processing occurs directly inside your local browser memory or mobile device.

  • Your documents never leave your computer or device.
  • No network transmission of file contents takes place for these tools.
  • When you close your tab or app, all temporary memory allocations are instantly cleared.

2. Ephemeral Server Conversions & AI Processing (Zero File Storage)

For heavy conversion, OCR, and intelligence tools (including Word to PDF, PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown, JPG, PDF Compression, OCR PDF, Repair PDF, PDF/A Archival, AI PDF Summarization, and Multi-Language Translation), documents are processed via our dedicated, self-hosted ephemeral microservice:

  • Stream-In / Stream-Out: The file is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS solely to compute the converted or analyzed result and stream it back to you immediately.
  • Zero Persistent Storage: Files are processed in isolated RAM/ephemeral sandboxes with zero database logging and zero persistent caching.
  • Instant Shredding: All temporary processing directories are permanently shredded and deleted from the server immediately after output delivery.
  • Self-Hosted & Private: All engines (LibreOffice, PyMuPDF, OCR, and AI NLP models) run on our private, self-hosted infrastructure. No document data or text is ever sent to OpenAI, Google Cloud, or third-party vendors.

3. Mobile Device Permissions (iOS & Android)

When using the PDFix mobile application, the following device permissions may be requested:

  • Camera Access: Requested solely when using the Camera Scanner to capture document photos.
  • Storage / Files Access: Requested to pick PDFs from your device and save processed outputs.
  • Biometrics (FaceID / Fingerprint): Used optionally for the Document Vault lock. Biometric data never leaves your device’s Secure Enclave.

4. Analytics & Telemetry

We do not collect personal identifiable information (PII), email addresses, or document text. Anonymous performance telemetries (such as aggregated tool usage counters or crash logs) may be collected to help us optimize application stability.
